AFFIRMATIONS FORTUNE TELLER Game: Positive Thinking Lesson, Negative Self Esteem
$ 4.50
DescriptionDo you need to boost self-esteem? If students are prone to negative thinking, this fun fortune teller game helps flip their thoughts with affirmations that build confidence and positive self-talk. As students play their game, they fill their minds with affirming thoughts that challenge any negative beliefs that may be holding them back. A worksheet and discussion about positive thinking explain how to change a negative dialogue by repeating positive statements. Students then identify 3 negative thoughts and rewrite them as positive affirmations. These are added to their fortune teller with other statements that feel right from an affirmations poster. They'll also add these phrases to a template they color to make a personalized poster to take home to practice positive thinking each day.▶️ TEACHER FEEDBACKUsed for counseling session. This one never gets old, my students always enjoy this one. - IrmaThere's also a Google Slides™ template where students type their affirmations if you'd prefer a digital activity.I love this activity because while it develops a growth mindset, kids also improve motor skills as they cut out their paper square and fold it into a game. This requires them to use problem-solving skills as they carefully follow directions to make it work. Depending on the level of your students, I'd recommend using the fortune teller in 4th, 5th, and 6th grade.This is a great homework or substitute teacher activity. ➡️ Benefits of Fortune TellersThough it may be seen as just a game, there are some real developmental benefits and skills required to construct and use a fortune teller:As they fold, write, color, and cut, students are strengthening the small muscles in their hand needed to control a pencil or pen. Students need to concentrate to follow the instructions while folding their fortune teller and will use spatial and manipulation skills to make it work. They use fine motor skills to color it and make the fortune teller move by opening and closing their hand.Kids practice writing if they are adding their own affirmations and strengthen literacy skills when they open the flaps to read them. Students also work on spelling as they write in each of the affirmations and spell the word for the image they have chosen.The game promotes social interactions, rule-following, and turn-taking when students work in pairs or groups.Click here to follow my store and learn when I post new resources and freebies.➡️ This pack includes Facts about affirmations and instructions for use3 x ready to print and use color fortune tellers3 x outlined fortune tellers for students to color3 x templates for writing personalized affirmations1 x blank template to get creative with Google Slides template and images for students to customize their own fortune teller onlineWorksheets for students6 x blank posters for students to color and write in personalized affirmations to display at home1 x color and outlined positive affirmations posterStudent instructions for folding and use* You will need Acrobat 7.0 or later - please contact me if you have an earlier version. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Save $$ on bundles:Kindness Best Sellers Bundle - 5 resourcesFriendship Activities Bundle - 7 resourcesBookmarks & Coloring Pages Bundle - 8 resourcesWellbeing & Mental Health Bundle - 5 resources•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••Customer Tips:★ Did you know you can receive credit towards future TpT purchases by reviewing products.
